Brian Sumers is a Los Angeles-based editor covering the global airline industry for Skift, the largest business intelligence and marketing platform in travel. Previously, Brian was a regular contributor to Conde Nast Traveler and Aviation Week. He has also written for the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times and L.A. Weekly.

As an expert on aviation, Brian has appeared on NPR’s All Things Considered and PRI’s Marketplace, as well as on CBS News, CNN and BBC World television. He has also been quoted about airline news in the New York Times and Conde Nast Traveler, among other publications.

Brian is a magna cum laude graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and has a master's degree in journalism from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School. Earlier in his career, he reported for the Tampa Bay Times, St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Southern California News Group, parent company of the Los Angeles Daily News.
