Lee Davis
Lee Davis is a destination marketing technology leader specializing in AI, digital strategy, web technology, and innovation within the tourism industry. As Director of Web Services for the Wilmington and Beaches CVB, Lee leads the organization’s web, CRM, marketing technology, AI initiatives, and digital infrastructure, with a focus on using technology to improve organizational efficiency and destination visibility. Lee is a practitioner and advocate for practical AI adoption in destination marketing, focusing on how DMOs can move beyond experimentation and integrate AI into everyday workflows, decision-making, content strategy, and operations. His work also focuses on the emerging intersection of AI and destination discovery—helping DMOs understand how travelers are discovering destinations through AI platforms and how organizations can build the digital foundation, content, data, and strategies necessary to remain visible and discoverable in AI-driven search and recommendation environments. His work sits at the intersection of technology, AI visibility, and change management, with a particular interest in helping organizations determine when to build, buy, or simply rethink a process before introducing another tool. Lee believes successful AI adoption is less about chasing the newest technology and more about solving the right problems, building trust, and creating systems people will actually use. Lee is a graduate of Leadership Wilmington and regularly engages with tourism and technology professionals around the future of AI, digital marketing, and destination management. He brings a practical, hands-on perspective from inside a working DMO and is passionate about helping destinations prepare for the rapidly changing technology landscape while ensuring they remain visible and discoverable wherever travelers are looking for their next destination.

Day 2 Tues. Sept 29

10:40 AM Keynote Panel: Be the Golden Ticket: Winning Traveler Discovery in a Transforming Age of AI, Social Feeds, and OTAs

Travelers now discover their next trip in a swirl of TikToks, creator posts, and AI‑generated ideas long before they ever hit a search box or OTA. This panel digs into how travel brands can win that discovery moment by showing up consistently across social feeds, AI assistants, and marketplaces and then actually turn that attention into bookings and loyalty.

  • How traveler discovery is shifting as short‑form video, creators, and social algorithms increasingly shape "where to go" long before a search or OTA visit
  • Stay visible across AI assistants, LLM search, and OTAs for multichannel discovery
  • Restructure content, data, and partnership strategies for "everywhere" search
  • Connect discovery to demand by tracing influence from social and AI surfaces through to site visits, bookings, and loyalty
